This information is only applicable to applicants who graduated in the class of 2019. Please read below for details on award information and how to maintain eligibility for the Regents’ Scholarship. If you have questions, please contact the scholarship office directly.
The award amounts for the class of 2019 are as follows:
To ensure your continued eligibility for the Regents’ Scholarship, it’s essential to adhere to the following guidelines:
Consistent Enrollment: Maintain uninterrupted enrollment at an eligible Utah college or university during the Fall and Spring semesters. (Fall and Winter for those attending Brigham Young University and Ensign College.)
Credit Load Requirement: Enroll in a minimum of 12 credits each semester to remain eligible for disbursement of the award.
Academic Performance: Students who receive an award disbursement must earn a 3.0 semester GPA and successfully complete at least 12 credits .
Probationary Status: Earning a semester GPA below a 3.0 will result in being placed on probationary status. It’s important to note that you can still receive the Regents’ Scholarship while on probation. However, if you earn a semester GPA lower than 3.0 for a second semester, you will forfeit the scholarship.
Your college will automatically report your enrollment and GPA information to the Regents’ Scholarship office each semester. Nevertheless, failing to meet these eligibility criteria may lead to the forfeiture of your scholarship funds. Keep in mind that the Regents’ Scholarship is applicable for up to four semesters but expires five years from your high school graduation date.
If you were granted a deferment right after high school and are now returning, please follow these steps:
Activate Your Scholarship: Reach out to the Regents’ Scholarship team to indicate where you will enroll upon deferment expiration.
Adhere to Submission Deadlines: Ensure that you meet the submission deadlines:
Eligibility for the Regents’ Scholarship automatically expires 5 years from the date of high school graduation. This means spring 2024 is the final semester in which 2019 graduates may receive payment and further leave of absence will result in expiration of eligibility.
If you plan to transfer colleges:
