ACT benchmarks show 25% of Utah high school grads are fully college-ready

The 2014 ACT report about college and career readiness is in. Though Utah is fairly even with the nation in terms of college readiness benchmarks, the fact remains that only a quarter of all Utah high school students met all four benchmarks and were truly prepared to attend college. ACT scores are important for colleges and universities because they provide an independent, accepted yardstick for college success.

The Utah System of Higher Education has several statewide initiatives that work to improve college readiness for all students. Some of the initiatives include Utah Scholars, StepUP Utah, Utah College Application Week and the ImPACT subgrant program.
