Organizational Structure Description
The Board of Higher Education sits at the top of the governance structure. Recommendations flow to the Board from multiple pathways. Non-system issues are referred to Trustees/President. Statutory responsibilities and strategic planning items flow through the Commissioner/Executive Committee, which oversees Expert Groups. These Expert Groups are divided into two categories: Affiliate Groups (including Council of Presidents, Academic & Instructional Affairs, Student Affairs, Business Affairs, Belonging & Opportunity, Legal Affairs, Gov. Affairs, Communications, and Data & Research) and Issue Groups (including Mental Health, Majors Faculty, Tech Ed. Workgroups, General Education, Transfer Council, Research, Innovation District, and Talent Ready).
