Mandatory Staff Training
Under Utah Code 53H-1-504, the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education is required to publicly publish mandatory staff training.
The current trainings offered through the Commissioner’s office Bridge as of 02/23/2026 are as follows:
- Addressing Discrimination and Sexual Misconduct on Campus | Appropriate Work Conduct (Office of Equal Opportunity)
- Annual compliance training that covers the University of Utah’s nondiscrimination and sexual misconduct policies. This includes information on sexual misconduct, Title IX, reporting misconduct, ADA and religious accommodations, and creating a safe campus. Developed by OEO.
- Firearms at the University of Utah Annual Training (DPS)
- Annual compliance training that covers the University of Utah’s campus procedures for faculty, staff, and students who may observe or hear about firearms on campus.
- Waste, Fraud, and Abuse (Utah System of Higher Education)
- Participants will learn how to properly report ethical violations, including those for fraud, waste, and abuse, as well as violations of Utah code, through a third-party whistleblower hotline system called “EthicsPoint.”
- Defensive Driver Training (Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education)
- This course is a guide on how to complete the state of Utah’s public defensive driving course. Those who have the potential to drive on behalf of OCHE are required to complete the driver’s training administered by the Utah Division of Risk Management once every two years.
- Mileage Reimbursement Training (Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education)
- Participants will learn how to properly adhere to USHE/OCHE’s mileage reimbursement guidelines. Participants will acknowledge their understanding of this requirement.
- UTravel/SAP Concur Training Guide (Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education)
- Participants will read the SAP Concur Training Guide and acknowledge their understanding of the material. Participants will end the training with the knowledge of how to submit travel requests through Concur.
- Conflict of Interest Training (Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education)
- Annual compliance training and acknowledgment of understanding for potential conflicts of interest. Participants will annually submit an updated conflict of interest form as part of this training.
- Respectful Culture at the University – Abusive Conduct (UHRM)
- Annual compliance training on how to maintain a culture of respect and how to prevent and report abusive conduct.
- UUPM Employee Tutorial (UHRM)
- In this video tutorial, employees will learn how to create an annual performance plan in the UUPM system.
- UKG: Salaried Employees (UHRM)
- This course is for any salaried employee responsible for reporting their time through UKG.
