The Utah State Board of Regents has unanimously elected a new Chair: Daniel W. Campbell, a Regent since 2010, has assumed the post of Chair from Bonnie Jean Beesley, who held the position since 2012. France Davis was also selected as Vice Chair at the meeting at Weber State University.

Bonnie Jean Beesley, a Regent since 2003 and Vice Chair from 2006 – 2012, stated: “It has been an honor serving the Board. The Board has made excellent choices in new leadership with Regents Campbell and Davis. They are both dedicated, longtime leaders in our community and will continue to serve Utah and its citizens well.”

Regent Daniel W. Campbell, from Provo, is a long-time advocate for Utah’s higher education. He was a member of Utah Valley University’s Board of Trustees, and is a former chairman of that board. He also chaired the Regents’ Resource and Review Committee for the University of Utah, and has served as a member of the Governor’s Commission on Education Excellence. Campbell is a managing general partner at EsNet Group, a privately held investment company.

“I look forward to working closely with Board members, the Commissioner, and our college and university presidents to increase program participation and completion rates, and continue the focus on the 66by2020 goal,” said Campbell. “Working together, we can ensure that all Utahns have access to an affordable and high-quality education.”
