New Utah Tech Presidential Search Committee Named

Board invites applicants through Jan. 17

The Utah Board of Higher Education has established a new ten-member committee to lead the search for the next president of Utah Tech University. The committee is tasked with conducting a comprehensive search to identify highly qualified candidates who can build on Utah Tech’s achievements and ensure its ongoing success and development.

The Utah Tech Presidential Search Committee is co-chaired by Utah Board of Higher Education member Danny Ipson and Utah Tech Board of Trustees member Deven Macdonald. The committee represents key stakeholders from the Utah Tech community, including trustees, faculty, staff, students, alumni, administration and the local community, as well as members of the Utah Board of Higher Education.

“The Utah Tech Presidential Search Committee, operating based on a new expedited timeline, will work to ensure we identify candidates who are not only highly qualified but also deeply committed to advancing the mission and values of Utah Tech University while exemplifying professionalism and ethics,” said Danny Ipson, Board of Higher Education member. 

The committee reflects the Board’s commitment to conducting an expedient and thorough search to select Utah Tech’s next leader. 

“This search is about finding a leader who will inspire confidence and collaboration across our campus and community,” said Deven Macdonald, Board of Trustees member. “We are looking for someone who values accountability, leads by example and can build on Utah Tech’s strengths.”

The search committee will conduct a thorough review of applicants after the application closes on Jan. 17, 2025, and recommend three to five finalists to the Board of Higher Education for consideration. The Board aims to select the next president by March 2025.
