Chair Covington called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.
Executive Committee Meeting
Chair Covington shared that President Richard Williams from Utah Tech University had announced his resignation a few weeks prior. According to Board bylaws, the Executive Committee is authorized to take action on behalf of the full Board under certain circumstances. The Executive Committee met with Courtney White. They also consulted with Utah Tech’s Board of Trustees and received their recommendation to have Courtney White fill the role of interim president. Chair Covington thanked Courtney for his willingness to consult with everyone and share his passion for Utah Tech University. Vice Chair Neeleman moved that the Executive Committee approve Courtney White as interim president of Utah Tech University. Board member Javier Chavez, Jr. seconded the motion. The Board members in attendance voted unanimously in favor. The motion passed. Courtney expressed appreciation to the Board for their confidence and trust.
Chair Covington moved to adjourn. Vice Chair Neeleman seconded the motion. The Board members in attendance voted unanimously in favor. The motion passed.
The meeting adjourned at 10:05 a.m.
