Chair Covington delegated the authority to call the meeting to order to Weber State University Board of Trustees Chair Keith Titus, and Chair Titus called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.
COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE
Board of Trustees Chair Titus welcomed attendees, followed by remarks from Board member Javier Chavez Jr. Chair Covington then provided comments, and Utah State University’s Ally Isom also offered remarks.
Board member Chavez Jr. moved to appoint as the next president of Weber State University, a Wildcat alumnus Chris Mallett. Board member Hart seconded the motion, and the Board members in attendance voted unanimously in favor. The motion passed.
Chair Covington introduced President Mallett, who then addressed the attendees. Chair Covington announced that President Mallett’s start date will be August 1, 2026.
Vice Chair Cox moved to adjourn. The motion was not seconded, but all Board members in attendance voted unanimously in favor. The motion passed.
The meeting adjourned at 10:34 a.m.
