According to a recent statewide survey from the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education, many Utah students and parents don’t know where to find the best information about college access and readiness.
In an effort to create a central website where middle and high school students, parents, and other adults can more easily find college and career readiness information, the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education is partnering with the Utah Education and Telehealth Network, the Department of Workforce Services, and Talent Ready Utah. As part of this partnership, the Utah System of Higher Education outreach brand StepUp to Higher Education will transition to UtahFutures over the coming year, and web content will be migrated from StepUpUtah.com to UtahFutures.org.
This transition allows for an expanded usage of personnel and resources with a more collaborative and efficient approach to outreach events, printed materials and promotional items, digital media, and marketing and communications across several state agencies.
UtahFutures is a website portal for college and career planning resources for students, parents, job seekers, and more. UtahFutures features career planning tools, leading labor market information, job search success skills, education and training options, and direct links to Utah employers and current employment opportunities.
UtahFutures has received one-time funding of $1.6 million this year from the state legislature. This funding will allow UtahFutures to continue to provide, free of cost, high quality college and career planning resources to all Utah residents.
