The Utah State University Presidential Search Committee is seeking public input to help hire the best possible candidate to lead the institution.
To get input from as many USU community members, including those away during the summer and those who work at one of USU’s 30 locations across the state, the search committee is offering multiple ways to participate.
The committee will host virtual and in-person public listening sessions on June 12 and 13. In addition, input may be submitted through the following methods:
- Email input or nominate a candidate by emailing usupresidentialsearch@ushe.edu.
- Submit an anonymous comment online.
Finalized meeting details and additional participation options are available at usu.edu/president-search. The input collected in these sessions, whether in person, online, or via the survey, will help inform the development of a leadership profile for the next president.
This profile will be included in the official job posting and will guide the search committee in reviewing applications. In the coming weeks, the search committee will approve a job posting and call for nominations and applications with the assistance of AGB Search.
“Input from the university community and the public will play a vital role as we work to find the right person to lead Utah State into the future,” Steve Neeleman, search committee co-chair, said. “Our focus is on bringing in the most qualified individual to help USU continue serving its statewide mission and advancing the goals of both the university and the Utah System of Higher Education.”
As required by law, the presidential search process is being conducted with an enhanced level of confidentiality to attract the strongest and most diverse pool of candidates. The search committee will review applications, conduct interviews and recommend three prioritized finalists to the Utah Board of Higher Education, which will make the final selection in an open public meeting. To protect the integrity of the process and the privacy of candidates, no information about applicants or finalists will be shared publicly until the selected candidate is officially announced.
Public listening sessions will be held as follows:
