In-person and virtual sessions scheduled for March 18
The Utah Valley University Presidential Search Committee is seeking public input to help identify the next president of UVU.
To ensure broad participation and gather perspectives from across UVU and the surrounding community, the search committee is offering multiple opportunities to engage. Faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members are encouraged to participate.
The committee will host in-person and virtual public input sessions on March 18. In addition, individuals may submit written feedback and ideas in the following ways:
- Email suggestions or nominations to UVU-President@agbsearch.com.
- Submit an anonymous comment online.
“Input from the UVU campus community and the broader Utah Valley region is essential as we identify the next leader of this dynamic institution,” said Aaron Skonnard, Board member and co-chair of the presidential search committee. “We encourage students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to share their perspectives to help guide the search for a president who can build on UVU’s strong momentum and continue advancing student success.”
The committee is comprised of representatives of the Utah Board of Higher Education, UVU’s Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, students, alumni, administration and community leaders.

“Utah Valley University is dedicated to expanding opportunity for students and serving the needs of Utah Valley’s growing communities and workforce,” said Shauna Smith, co-chair of the presidential search committee. “Community input will help ensure the committee identifies a leader who understands UVU’s mission and can continue strengthening the university’s impact as a regional institution.”
In the coming weeks, the search committee will approve a job posting and call for nominations and applications with the assistance of a national search firm, AGB Search.
As required by state statute, the search committee will conduct the process with an enhanced level of confidentiality to attract the strongest and most robust pool of candidates. The search committee will review applications, conduct interviews and recommend three prioritized finalists to the Board of Higher Education, which will make the final selection in an open public meeting. To protect the integrity of the process and the privacy of candidates, applicants and candidate information is confidential.
The search committee is committed to providing meaningful opportunities for engagement and input.
