The Weber State University Presidential Search Committee is seeking public input to help identify the next president of Weber State University.
To ensure broad input from the Weber State campus and surrounding community, the search committee is offering multiple ways to engage. Faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members are encouraged to participate.
The committee will host in-person and virtual public input sessions on Jan. 12 and Jan. 15. In addition, individuals may submit written feedback and ideas through the following ways:

“Input from the campus community and the public is essential as we work to identify the right leader for Weber State University,” said Javier Chavez Jr., co-chair of the presidential search committee. “Our priority is selecting a highly qualified president who will continue advancing Weber State’s mission while supporting affordable, high-quality education that serves students and Utah’s communities.”

The input collected in these sessions will help shape the presidential leadership profile that will be included in the official job posting and guide the committee in reviewing and evaluating candidates.
“We are approaching this search with a shared commitment to Weber State University’s future,” said Ally Isom, co-chair of the presidential search committee. “Community input will be critical as we look for a president who can build upon Weber State’s successes and meet the evolving needs of the region.”
In the coming weeks, the search committee will approve a job posting and call for nominations and applications with the assistance of a national search firm, AGB Search.
As required by law, the presidential search process is being conducted with an enhanced level of confidentiality to attract the strongest and most qualified pool of candidates. The search committee will review applications, conduct interviews and recommend three prioritized finalists to the Utah Board of Higher Education, which will make the final selection in an open and public meeting. To protect the integrity of the process and the privacy of candidates, no information about applicants or finalists will be shared publicly until the selected candidate is officially announced.
The search committee is committed to providing meaningful opportunities for engagement and input.
