Karen Mayne Public Safety Officer Scholarship Program

The Karen Mayne Public Safety Officer Scholarship Program is a state-funded scholarship program to provide funding to recent high school graduates who intend to work as public safety officers when eligible. 

  • Eligible Students:
    • Recent high school graduates 
    • Aspiring public safety officers
  • Eligibility Requirements:
    • Graduate from a Utah high school
    • When eligible, enroll in a basic training course at a state-certified academy
    • Enroll in a qualifying degree program or receive an approved deferral at an eligible institution beginning the fall semester after high school graduation
    • Commit to working as a certified peace officer in Utah for a minimum of five years after POST certification
    • Not a recipient of a PSOCAG award
    • Complete the FAFSA
