The Utah Board of Higher Education selected Stacee Y. McIff as the 18th president of Snow College today, following an extensive national search.
McIff will assume the position on May 1, 2023. She succeeds Bradley J. Cook, who served as president from May 2019-July 2022. McIff has served as interim president of Snow College since July 1, 2022.
“I am very honored to have been selected as Snow College’s 18th president. Born and raised in rural Utah, I am proud to lead Utah’s rural community college. Student success is our number one priority,” McIff said. “Thanks to incredible faculty and staff, students who attend Snow College have a personalized transformational experience that is unique in our higher education system. As the degree-granting institution and technical college for central Utah, Snow College is well-positioned to meet workforce needs and support a wide variety of students. I look forward to continuing my work with the Utah State Board of Higher Education, the Snow College Board of Trustees, technical and degree-granting institutions, our K12 partners, legislators, and community leaders. I’m grateful to my colleagues, friends and family for their support.”
In collaboration with the Utah Board of Higher Education, the Snow College Board of Trustees named a 13-member search committee in December 2022 that included a variety of community members and stakeholders who spent several months interviewing and soliciting input. The search committee held open meetings and conducted research to select finalists qualified to fill the president’s role according to statutory criteria. The search committee forwarded three finalists to the Utah Board of Higher Education and a public comment period ensued. The Board then heard input on the finalists and interviewed them. McIff was one of three finalists announced on March 29, 2023.

Stacee’s experience on both campuses, as a faculty and staff member, and with technical education and degree-granting programs suits her well for this presidency. Stacee Y. McIff is currently the Interim President of Snow College. As interim president, she has prioritized students and employees, as well as community and USHE partnerships. Before she was appointed as interim president, Stacee led the college’s expanded mission into technical education and served as Vice President of Technical Education and Workforce Engagement for two years after serving for a time as Associate Provost and as Business Department Chair for eight years. She has held a faculty role at the college since 2006, where she has prioritized student engagement and worked with various internal and external task forces, including co-chairing the last strategic planning process tied to accreditation. Stacee has been heavily involved in the community and has served as national board chair of Future Business Leaders of America, Inc., on the SUU National Alumni Council, Leavitt Center for Politics and Public Service Board, the Board of Directors of the New Horizons Crisis Center, as president of the Sevier County Republican Women, and more.

Born and raised in rural Utah, McIff holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern Utah University and a master’s degree from Utah State University.
